HEARTHSTONE GRAND PRIX AT DREAMHACK AUSTIN
DreamHack expands Hearthstone Grand Prix circuit to 4 events!
Today, DreamHack is excited to present our Hearthstone plans for the DreamHack Grand Prix circuit in 2016! Since the launch of Hearthstone, the game has become one of the fastest growing and most popular esports titles at DreamHack. What initially began at DreamHack Summer 2014 with a smaller semi-invitational and BYOC tournament has quickly grown into the DreamHack Grand Prix series. The last tournament at DreamHack Winter 2015 had roughly 200 competitors playing live onsite in arguably the most gruelling live Hearthstone tournament ever!
In 2016, the DreamHack Grand Prix circuit will be expanded to feature four stops at DreamHack events. Each one will host a major open Swiss tournament for all to compete in. The tournament will feature a $27,500 prize pool, roughly 200 competitors, and will be played out over 3 days. In addition, DreamHack will also be adding extra side events and tournaments for players knocked out of the main contest on day 1 or 2. Each stop on the circuit will have side tournaments on the second and third days, with $5,000 in prizes on offer for players who weren’t too lucky in the Swiss competition.
Every tournament will be broadcast live, with the best matches of the Swiss competition and full top 8 bracket streamed online. If you aren’t able to make it to the events in person, be sure to tune into http://www.dreamhack.tv when the action gets underway!
