What is DreamHack Austin?

DreamHack is a gaming event unlike any other! DreamHack events are all about the massive BYOC (Bring your own Computer) LAN party happening, and this is paired with a plethora of competitive tournaments and international esports competitions happening. Visitors are also able to check out the latest gaming & tech gear at the DreamExpo, and take part in all sorts of different activities that grassroots communities are able to organise, whether its more tournaments, cosplay, or any other activities! DreamHack events are what their visitors make them!

I want to compete, what kind of ticket should I get?

All ticket holders to the DreamHack Austin event is eligible to participate in the tournament. (BYOC passes will also allow you to play in any BYOC tournaments). Do not miss to pre register to secure your spot in the tournament.

What does DreamHack provide for the LAN party? What do I need to bring?

For every BYOC ticket you purchase you will be provided with one table seat and a simple chair paired with it. You will be provided one electrical socket and one internet port. You will need to provide an internet cable (we recommend 10m to be safe) and an extension cord to be able to plug in both computer tower and monitor.

Is it safe to bring my PC? Do I need to worry about theft?

All BYOC visitors will go through a process to check in their computers & monitors, so that only they will be able to leave with them. We do not recommend leaving valuables like cell phones & wallets at your LAN seat. DreamHack is not responsible for any lost possessions.

Is there any age restriction?

Everyone is welcome at DreamHack Austin! All visitors must sign a waiver. Those below 18 require their parent or legal guardian to also sign the waiver. Those below 13 must be accompanied at all times by their parent or legal guardian.

Is there any merchandise available?

Yes! The official DreamHack MerchStore will be on-site and your place to purchase exclusive DreamHack clothing and gear that is only available onsite at DreamHack events. Alongside this you can gear up your gaming rig further with hardware from the DreamStore

WHERE IS DREAMHACK AUSTIN?

The venue for DreamHack Austin 2016 is the Austin Convention Center, located at 500 E Cesar Chavez St, Austin, TX 78701, United States.

CAN YOU BUY TICKETS ON LOCATION?

Event passes will be available for purchase at the event for day visitors, however we recommend purchasing tickets now to both take advantage of the early bird ticket prices and guarantee your ticket incase we reach capacity on the venue.

WILL THERE BE LAN SEATS?

Of course! DreamHack Austin will feature a LAN party with roughly 2000 seats.

IS THERE A SLEEPING AREA LIKE DREAMHACK SUMMER AND WINTER?

Unfortunately, we cannot offer a sleeping area at DreamHack Austin similar to DreamHack Summer and Winter.

IS ANYTHING ELSE REQUIRED OF ATTENDEES?

All attendees will be required to sign the visitor waiver, all visitors under the age of 18 will be required to have their parent and or legal guardian sign the waiver. Visitors under the age of 13 will require parental supervision at all times.

The waiver can be read here and printed out and prepared before the event for quicker entry.

What payments methods to you offer?

We offer payment by VISA, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS & DISCOVERY.

When does the seatbooking open?

Seat booking will open up for regular pass holders on January 14th, and for premium founder pass holders on January 1st, so make sure to select your seat quickly to be able to guarantee sitting with your friends!

DO YOU OFFER REFUNDS ON TICKETS?

Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds on tickets.

How does the seatbooking work?

You will receive a link to our seatbooking website on e-mail a few weeks before the seatbooking opens.
The link will include valuecode/s that you use to book your seat/s. If you have bought multiple tickets you will be able to reserve seat for them all. You can move around in the seatmap until march 29th.
